which teas are decaffeinated?
All our rooibos teas are naturally decaffeinated. Most of the Herbal teas will be decaf with the exception of anything containing yerba mate. We have 3 Black decaf teas (Earl Grey Decaf, Ceylon Orange Pekoe Decaf and Vanilla Cream Decaf) Our only Green decaf is Sencha Decaf.
where are tealish teas from?
We source our teas from around the world. Greens are from China and Japan, Blacks are from India and Sri Lanka, Rooibos are from Africa and Yerba Mate is from South America.
what is matcha?
Matcha is a high quality finely ground green tea. The leaves are ground into a fine powder which is dissolved in below boiling water. Matcha gives you about 10-15 times the amount of health benefits as your standard green tea since you are especially ingesting the leaf instead of just steeping it.
which tea has the highest amount of antioxidants?
White teas will have the highest antioxidant content. Rooibos have about the same as a green tea, without the caffeine. Matcha will have the highest amount of antioxidants as you are ingesting the leaf, therefore consuming the antioxidants.
what is the process used to decaffeinate your green & black teas?
The teas go through a CO2 process. The leaves are soaked in a bath of carbon dioxide at a pressure of 73 to 300 atmospheres. After a thorough soaking the pressure is reduced allowing the CO2 to evaporate, or pressurized CO2 is run through water or charcoal filters to remove the caffeine. This process avoids the use of harmful solvents.
is there caffeine in mate?
Think of mate as a cousin of caffeine. It provides energy but is less aggressive than caffeine. It provides a steady and slow plateau of non jittery energy.
