Whisk these premium powders with hot water (or tea!), sweeten and add steamed milk. Try adding them to your morning smoothies or even your holiday baking.

Ingredients

3 tsp premium matcha powder

Matcha whisk

Apple Crumble green tea

1 cup milk of your choice

Caramel sauce for rim and to taste

Fresh Ontario apples for garnish

serves 2

Recipe

Add 4 perfect teaspoons of Apple Crumble green tea to a small teapot. Measure out 2 teaspoons of matcha into a heat safe glass measuring cup (make sure theres enough room to whisk!) Boil the kettle.

While the kettle is boiling, add a thin layer of caramel sauce to the bottom of a saucer (make sure it's big enough for your mugs). Rim each mug by carefully lowering them into the dish and slowly spinning, pull up vertically and then place upright.

Begin heating milk, add 1/2 teaspoon matcha powder and whisk. Once it's reached the desired temperature, whisk until frothy. You can use a battery operated whisk like this for both matcha and milk frothing!

Add approximately 6-10 oz boiling water to the teapot and steep for 2 minutes. Slowly add the tea to the matcha powder, just a thin layer to start. Using a matcha whisk or battery operated whisk, combine until the matcha resembles a thin paste, add more tea from the teapot slowly and whisk again. Stir in 2 teaspoons caramel sauce (or leave it unsweetened if you prefer) and pour into the bottom of each mug. Top it off with the steamed milk, garnish with slices of fresh ontario apples and enjoy!
