This variety of tea from the Yunnan province of China, is praised for its medicinal properties. Like a fine wine, if Pu-erh is stored properly, it can be aged and allowed to mature before consumption. Fermentation is what gives this Chinese black tea it's unique characteristics and it is commonly believed that the longer the dried tea ages, the better the flavour. This PuErh is loose leaf and unformed, with an infusion that results in a medium-bodied, dark-reddish liquor with earthy flavours and a slight floral aroma.
